Fifth victory in the seventh game – but it was scarce: Schalke 04 also won against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Schalke were allowed to thank a substitute.

The substitution of Finn Porath, 28, was less than five minutes behind, when the coach Miron Muslic was allowed to feel confirmed in his decision: After a shot by Kenan Karaman and a parade by Fürth’s goalkeeper Pelle Boevink, it was Porath, who was first on the ball and scored the 1-0 (0: 0) final score (77th minute).

In the table of the 2nd Bundesliga, Schalke 04 climbs on the promotion zone two after the fifth victory in the seventh game at least one night. The Fürth game association is a good distance from this: Nine points – the relegation ranks are more closer to Fürth as opponents Schalke.

Collision of two Schalke – the game ended early for Becker

The game had started more than an hour and a half earlier with a scene that they could have done well in Gelsenkirchen. The 7th minute ran when Schalke’s defender Timo Becker collided with his teammate Ron Schallenberg. Becker kept his right knee – he had to be replaced shortly afterwards.

There is not much missing from a shot from Schalke’s el-faouzi

In a first half in which football highlights were rare, Schalke was the somewhat better team. At the end of the first half, statisticians had noted twelve goal finishes – all for Schalke. Soufiane El-Faouzi had the best chance in the 12th minute when he turned over to several opponents with a ball on the foot and then aimed at the far corner from a pointed angle. There were no centimeters for the lead.

Otherwise, with the exception of two degrees from Schalke, not much at the gates of both teams happened: First Moussa Sylla headed over the goal after an el-faouzi corner (30th). Then Fürth’s goalkeeper Boevink was on hand with a shot from Kenan Karaman (42nd).

Schalke puts pressure – but does not hit

Schalke was also superior in the second half, but the team of coach Muslic did not score a goal at first. It was scarce when left -back Vitalie Becker brought a free kick to the goal and found defense chief Nikola Katic. Katic also came to the ball, but narrowly missed the goal (68th).

Porath redeems Schalke against weak Fürther

It was a little scarce seconds later when Becker shot and hit the ball well. Goalkeeper Boevink just steered his left shot over the crossbar. A few minutes later, Sylla had the 1-0 on his foot, only he failed from a short distance from Boevink (75th).

Then came the 77th minute, the shot of Karaman, the parade of Boevink and Porath, which was just right and still scored the winning goal from a pointed angle.

90.+6! Goalkeeper Karius saves Schalke the victory

In the end, they still had to tremble again in Gelsenkirchen. Fürth almost achieved the equalizer in the sixth minute of stoppage time when Omar Sillah headed the goal from a few meters, but failed due to Schalke’s goalkeeper Loris Karius.
