Till Lindemann promises two completely different shows for the two of them Till Fest concerts on July 3rd and 4th in front of the Battle of the Nations Monument in Leipzig. The Rammstein singer is presenting a large part of his extensive solo work at his first own open-air festival and also has Ministry there as support.
However, if you are not of legal age at the time of the gigs and have bought tickets, you could be in for a real treat. Both concerts are only open to those aged 18 and over. The stewards are required to check the age if they are unsure.
Why is the Till Fest not suitable for young people?
As with Lindemann’s previous concerts, this is an “over 18” party. During the shows, uncensored, sometimes extremely explicit videos are played on the huge LED screens in the background. These show pornographic images, naked skin and unsimulated sex. Among other things, the video “Till The End” can be included, which even led to the publisher Kiepenheuer & Witsch separating from its author Lindemann a few years ago. You can see violent oral sex in the rough category and women who appear defenseless. The stage show will also be characterized by provocative elements with sexual and morbid elements. All of this goes far, far beyond what can otherwise be seen at Rammstein concerts.
So a question of child protection?
Exactly that! If the organizer were to allow minors access to a performance with such content, it would be violating the Youth Protection Act (JuSchG). This means that strict measures must be taken to ensure that people under the age of 18 do not hear about the shows, otherwise the organizer and the operator of the location face severe fines or, in the worst case, the revocation of the event license.
And if you have parental permission?
Here too the motto is: stay outside! There is no entry with the so-called “Muttischein” (permission from an adult). It is also not possible to be accompanied by an adult. Strict ID checks ensure that teenagers are not allowed to go to Lindemann.
Are there still tickets?
At 91 meters high, the Battle of the Nations Monument in the southeast of Leipzig is the largest monument in Europe and one of the city’s most famous landmarks. 10,000 to 15,000 spectators are expected. The exclusive front-of-stage area (“Golden Circle”) is already completely sold out for both days of the festival. Regular standing room tickets for the rear areas (“Standing Areas”) are currently still available for advance purchase. According to the officially published site map by Till Lindemann, in addition to the main stage, there will also be a smaller additional stage (“Golden Stage”) in the middle of the audience area.
