Quentin Tarantino’s two “Kill Bill” films from 2003 and 2004 may not have been quite as successful as “Pulp Fiction” or decorated as “Django Unchained”. But perhaps they are his most beloved. In terms of fan fiction stories alone, there are always expansions of the story of “The Bride,” who is on a quest for revenge (or is being hunted herself). Sometimes even Tarantino fantasizes about what it would be like to make a third Kill Bill film.

With “KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR”, the version that Quentin Tarantino intended from the start is now coming to German cinemas for the first time. A single film epic, around four and a half hours long, that combines both parts. Plus with previously unpublished material. A post-processing that Tarantino has never done on any of his films.

The film will not only be shown digitally in the German version, the original version and the original version. But also as an analogue 70mm copy in the original version. The performances are presented with a 15-minute intermission between the two acts. Venues and dates will be announced shortly.

The theatrical release is on April 16, 2026. The cut version celebrated its world premiere out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006, but then disappeared into the archives. The upcoming theatrical release now marks the first regular release for a wide audience.

The special features of this version include the fully colored fight against the Crazy 88 (in black and white at the time to avoid censorship, eyeballs pulled out, innards pouring out, you name it), an extended anime sequence and the clear division of the film into two by a break – in keeping with the original dramaturgy.
