The weather will carry Muscovites to the beginning of April

Tuesday, February 15 became the warmest day in Moscow since the start of winter. Meanwhile, forecasters warn of a further increase in temperature. As Elena Volosyuk, the leading specialist of the FOBOS Weather Center, said, there has never been such a warm day in the capital this winter.

According to data for 15:00, the air in Moscow warmed up to plus 3.3 degrees. This was facilitated by sunny, slightly cloudy weather. The maximum temperature rises usually from 15:00 to 18:00. The record is not so far away: from the maximum of February 15, 1952, today is separated by five tenths of a degree. At the same time, such strong thaws have not yet happened this winter. Although, there is something to remember: plus 2.3 degrees in early December, and plus 2.1 on the Old New Year, and the recent plus 2.4.

Interestingly, in the south-east of the Novgorod region is now much warmer than in the capital. In the city of Borovichi, the thermometers at 15:00 showed plus 6.4 degrees. The air could not warm up so much either in St. Petersburg, or in Kaliningrad, or in Belgorod. In the same time in Greater Sochi it was almost plus 12, in Crimea – up to plus 9.

On Wednesday, February 16, negative temperatures are expected only in the Far North and in the east of European Russia. Thaw weather will continue in most regions. Moreover, in the southern region, the thermometers will again rise to plus 5-10 degrees.

In the future, another cyclone, rapidly approaching from the northwest, will cover the Russian Plain with a new powerful heat wave. This is clearly visible on the map, where the blue color will change to green. In the south of the country, the temperature regime will be 4-6 degrees above the norm, and in the central regions the positive anomaly will reach 8-10 degrees.

True, warming will be accompanied by worsening weather – precipitation and increased wind. On Thursday, February 17, its gusts will exceed 15 meters per second over a vast territory from Pomorye to the Chernozem region, and in the west of the Central Region, the wind can accelerate to stormy 20 meters per second.

Clouds began to cover the sky over Sochi in the middle of the day, and, according to the latest data, it is plus 9.4 in the city. With the sunset, the thermometer readings will decrease, but even at night in the city it will not be lower than +4. Warm weather will remain in Sochi until the end of the week, but it will rain on the eve of the weekend, and the avalanche situation will become more complicated in the mountain cluster.
The sun is shining brightly in Moscow. If we talk about the average daily temperature, then it corresponds to March 29, and certainly not the middle of February. In the evening it will become noticeably cooler, and at night it will freeze to minus 6.

On Wednesday, it will warm up to plus 1 in the capital. Such values correspond to the middle of the calendar spring. In the second half of the working week, when the onslaught of the Atlantic heat will intensify, the average daily temperature will become positive. Thus, nature will transfer Muscovites to the beginning of April.
