The German soccer players start qualifying for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil in Dresden.

As the German Football Association (DFB) announced on Friday, national coach Christian Wück’s selection will face Slovenia on March 3rd at the start in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium. Other opponents in qualifying group A4 are Austria and Norway.

The team led by captain Giulia Gwinn will compete in a total of three international match phases to qualify for the next World Cup. The opener against Slovenia is followed four days later by the away game in Norway.

Germany will first face Austria at home on April 14th before traveling to their neighboring country for the second leg on April 18th. The DFB women will host Norway on June 5th before completing the qualification with an away game against their opening opponents in Slovenia on June 9th.

Only the four group winners of the A-League qualify directly for the World Cup. Seven more World Cup tickets will be played via play-offs, plus another place via the intercontinental play-offs. The two rounds of the play-offs will take place in October and November/December.
