The tennis world is horrified by horrifying images: girl (14) abused by father who is also her trainer | Sport

with videoShocking images from Belgrade: a young tennis player (14) has a hard time in training, she is even kicked and punched in the face. The culprit is her father, who is also her coach. The Chinese has since been arrested for domestic violence. Well-known tennis stars such as Stanislas Wawrinka and Victoria Azarenka have expressed their disgust.

Croatian actor Igor Juric put the video on Twitter four days ago. Since then, the terrifying scene has gone viral. The images show how the man initially kicks his daughter, whose identity is unknown, on the hip. Then two slaps in the face. The girl is eventually forced to the ground, where she has to take another three kicks.

The Chinese tried to justify his behavior with a lame excuse: his daughter would have refused to train and in his eyes was not trying her best. “I didn’t mean to hurt her. But I acted correctly, such an approach is allowed in China,” it sounded.

Warning: The images below may be experienced as shocking.

‘Absolute shame’

Several top tennis players have already made themselves heard. For example, Victoria Azarenka, the former number one among women, wondered why eyewitnesses just let him go. ,,How can someone keep filming for so long without intervening? An absolute shame that is, but it happens constantly. Just take your responsibility.”

Stanislas Wawrinka – briefly the number three in the world in 2014 – called the scene ‘terrible’. Just like Patrick Mouratoglou, the former coach of Serena Williams and Simona Halep. “This is unacceptable. We must eradicate all forms of child abuse, both physical and psychological. It affects all sectors of our society, not just tennis. Let’s think together how we can stand up to this.”

‘Broken Forever’

Pam Shriver, the former number one in doubles, even enlisted the help of tennis icon Novak Djokovic. After all, the facts took place in his home country of Serbia. “Maybe he can do his bit behind the scenes. We all need to work together to stop abuse.”

Daria Saville, the current number 55 in the world, is very concerned about the victim. “That girl will be broken forever. If you think someone has been a victim of physical or mental violence, support that person and encourage them to go to the police and seek help.”
