The Swedish player shot a wonderful text about the Lions star – “Couldn’t be less interested”

Emil Larmi believes that young Rasmus Sandin will get feedback from Sweden’s more experienced players.

According to Emil Larmi, the more experienced players in Leijon would intervene if one of the players fell into a behavior similar to that of Rasmus Sandin. Jussi Saarinen

  • Sweden beat Finland 2–1 on Monday night with Henrik Tömmernes scoring one and Lucas Raymond scoring two.
  • Defender Rasmus Sandin gave Aftonbladet an interview about Finnish goalkeeper Emil Larmi.

– Those who shot hard shots seemed to read Larm easily. It was fun to watch. We sat on the bench and laughed after every goal, Rasmus Sandin told the victory drunk for Aftonbladet.

– It looked really easy. I almost could have scored him myself.

Emil Larmi arrived for an interview with Iltalehti after Leijoni’s Tuesday afternoon practice. The knowledge of the unsportsmanlike comments had reached his ears.

However, Larmi did not want to give a counter-comment in the direction of the 23-year-old Washington Capitals pack.

– There might be some from within the team as well from those guys who have little experience in winning, Larmi thought that Sandin would get a little “instruction”.

– You will never play into your own pocket with those comments.

It’s hard to imagine any lion player stooping to mocking a losing opponent at the moment of victory.

– There is the experience here, which could then push a little in the other direction. I do know that there are also players there who have an understanding of what it really takes to win, said Larmi, who represents SHL champion Växjö at the club level.

Did you think Sandini’s behavior was disrespectful?

– That’s what it’s all about. To me it’s just the same. I couldn’t care less.

“Not quite in the ditch”

After three matches, there is room for improvement in the Lions’ game and results.

– Of course you would like to win. It has left the team and personally a bit exhausted, Larmi stated.

So far, Finland has lost the matches in which Larmi has been in goal, i.e. the USA and Sweden games, but he was the team’s best, if not even the best, player in both.

– All the time, the game is an upswing for the team and myself. It hasn’t been completely in the ditch.

Larmi describes his own playing as “moderately smooth”.

– Of course, two very different games. The Yankee game was quite confusing for the whole team, which made my own work difficult. Against Sweden, the game was much more solid, and it was easier to be under the game.

The role of fans

Finland lost to Sweden according to the same formula as in last spring’s World Cup, i.e. the winning goal competition. They might play a big role in the future as well, especially in the playoffs.

– We always try to be in front of the puck and of course we also watch videos, Larmi answered the question about preparing for tough games.

Finland will next play against France on Wednesday starting at 20:20. The goalkeepers still had no information about the innings on Tuesday. Jussi Olkinuora was between the posts in Saturday’s 4–3 win against Germany. The third goalkeeper is Christian Heljanko.

The promotion is proceeding with the template that looks like it – and the game shows also support it – that Larmi is being made the first guard of the Lions.

– Of course you want to play it, but let’s go one game at a time. No matter who one of us plays, we certainly won’t fall for it, Larmi assured his credit to Olkinuora and Heljanko as well.

– We have three capable goalkeepers.
