The Store – hipsters and breads

I sometimes gossip a little bit about hipsters at this point. But I have to admit – I am only too happy to be a guest at their Berlin headquarters.

When my friend Silke invites me to Soho House, I never say “no”. The club’s own cinema in the basement is insanely chic and cosy, and the view from the terrace (with pool) isn’t bad either.

Even as a non-member you have (limited) access to Soho House.

Be it in the excellent Italian restaurant on the ground floor or in the boutique “The Store”. There’s not only clothes and sneakers from luxury brands like Balenciaga – there’s also a coffee shop. It’s not only good, it’s also affordable!

The cappuccino for 3.80 euros, a freshly made smoothie for 8.50 euros. The (plentiful) sandwiches are worth their money – with avocado for eight euros, with egg salad for ten euros. There are regular tables (popularly occupied by people with laptops) or you can settle down on one of the two huge sofas amidst the expensive clothes.

Speaking of which, the soap and hand lotion in the Soho toilets are from Cowshed’s own brand. What a great scent! There is nothing to sneer at…
