The Zuidlaardermarkt will forever be special for Tinus and Stientje. It was here that they first saw each other in 1954. “Just at the fair, I think they were following us.”
The couple soon started dating and Tinus regularly came to Zuidlaren from Eext. A year later they were married, although they had not yet planned it. “It was one must”, says Tinus. “Then we thought, we should do that. And luckily we got through that very well.”
This year too, they couldn’t stay away from the place where the spark flew. “We are almost always present. We sometimes said, if we weren’t there, it wouldn’t happen. It has always been a great time.”
