Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, 82, is accused of sexual harassment, says, among other things BBC.
Iglesias is accused by two of his former employees, one of whom worked as his domestic helper and the other as a physical therapist. The women claim to have been subjected to inappropriate touching, insults and humiliation in an atmosphere of control and constant harassment.
The women worked at Iglesias’s resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Lyford Cay, Bahamas. According to the women, Iglesias has harassed them in 2021.
Spanish news website El Diario.es and Spanish-language television channel Univision Noticias investigated the allegations about Iglesias for three years. Evidence has been collected from 15 people who have worked under Iglesias between the end of the 1990s and the year 2023.
El Diario.es and Univision Noticias tried to get answers to the allegations from Iglesias and his lawyer before publishing them, but to no avail.
The authorities are investigating the allegations, according to the BBC.
Iglesias is one of the best-selling Spanish-language singers in the world. Iglesias, who ended his career in the 1960s, performed in Finland on his farewell tour in 2019. Iglesias’s child Enrique Iglesias is also a well-known singer.
