The ceremony will take place in private and, according to the family, it is intended as a private ceremony. Still, many residents of Fleurance are preparing to express their condolences. The town of about 6,000 inhabitants has been deeply affected by the case in recent days.
Silent march
Last Sunday, thousands of people took to the streets for a silent march in memory of Lyhanna. The parade brought together residents, friends, relatives and sympathizers to show their support for the relatives.
Emotion also remains high at the Hubert-Reeves College, where Lyhanna went to school. Dozens of bouquets of flowers and cuddly toys were placed at the entrance of the school. A memorial plaque pays tribute to Lyhanna and all the children.
Lyhanna was last seen on May 29. According to French authorities, she then got into the car of Jérôme Barella, who is considered the main suspect in the investigation. Her body was found on June 4.
The municipal council of Fleurance announced that residents who want to show their support are welcome in the area surrounding the cemetery. During the ceremony, several people from the girl’s immediate environment will also speak.
