In middle school, the Bäkkäri were completely Paul Elias’ own secret. However, he felt that some cover story had to be invented – and some favorite band publicly named. One was found in a TV commercial.
– The Offspring was good enough and no one else had said they were listening to it, Paul Elias refers to the American band that officially became his favorite band.
When Paul Elias joined the Satin Circus band years later, he found his roots again.
– I came out of the closet with the thing. Yes, I can listen to the Backstreet Boys and be in the mood for it.
