THEBreast cancer is defeated every day also thanks to early diagnosis. He knows it well Komen Italy, on the front line on the national territory with the “Prevention Caravan”. With this project, to date, they have been achieved over 1,500 “Female Health Promotion Days” in 17 Italian regionsoffering to 265,000 women free medical services.
Breast cancer: the charity dinner for prevention
To advance the goal of prevention for as many women as possible, this year too, on the occasion of Christmas, the Association organized an all-pink Charity Dinner. The halls of The St. Regis Rome they served as the backdrop for the Pink Tie Ball. The gala dinner was preceded by a special solidarity shoppink That Komen Italy is achieved thanks to the contribution of many prestigious partners who support its mission. The solidarity shopping it allowed the purchase of design objects, fashion collections, food and wine excellences, stays and unique experiences of sport, leisure and culture. Proceeds will help improve the lives of women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Breast cancer: many concrete actions throughout Italy
Over the last few years, thanks to the Pink Tie Ball, Komen Italia has collected over 160,000 euros which have been allocated to many dedicated initiatives to the 57,000 women who deal with breast cancer every year in Italy. In particular, one was purchased and set up new Mobile Unit for the Caravan of Preventionthe Itinerant Program for the Promotion of Women’s Health created in collaboration with the A. University Polyclinic Foundation IRCCS Twins. The Caravan offers particular attention to those who are in conditions of social fragility or reside in geographical areas where prevention is more difficult to achieve.
Concrete help
The funds raised for the 2024 edition will contribute to the opening of a new Komen Italia Center for Integrated Therapies in Oncology at theTiber Island Hospital – Gemini Island. The Center will allow an ever-increasing number of women with breast cancer to receivetogether with the necessary oncological therapies, too complementary treatments. These will be useful in improving psychophysical well-beingreduce the side effects of traditional therapies and reduce the risk of disease recurrence. The Pink Tie Ball is organized by Komen Italy thanks to an Organizing Committee chaired by Jacqueline Baudit de Laurentiis And Maite Bulgariwith the support of the godmothers Maria Grazia Cucinotta And Rosanna Banfi.
