Karina Pasian, 34, who performed the US national anthem in an NFL game, has come under fierce criticism.
Entertainment website TMZ’s according to Pasian’s outfit was called “stripper style”. The woman was wearing a short and revealing black dress and garters.
Many social media commentators felt that the national anthem should be interpreted in a more conservative outfit.
In Pasian’s opinion, the dress represented her as an artist, because she dresses in a cabaret and burlesque style anyway.
– My intention was not to offend anyone. I’m sorry if anyone was hurt, Pasian told TMZ.
– I felt wonderful in that outfit.
According to the singer, the NFL had also approved her dress in advance.
– I worked with two stylists and they were great. They brought the outfit I envisioned to life, praised Pasian.
The match itself ended with the overtime victory of the Miami Dolphins over the Washington Commanders with a score of 16–13. It was the first game in NFL history played in Spain.
