Anger at Alonso: scandal over Real superstar

The prestigious success of the “Royal” in the top game against FC Barcelona is overshadowed by a freak out. Because Vinícius Júnior could hardly be contained in his anger. The target of his anger: Real coach Xabi Alonso, of all people. He has now reacted.
Won 2-1 in the Clásico against FC Barcelona and extended the lead over the Catalans in the table to five points – it was actually a more than successful Sunday afternoon for Real Madrid. If it weren’t for the excitement surrounding Vinícius Júnior. Because the Brazilian superstar caused a scandal in the game.
The 72nd minute at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu: Real coach Xabi Alonso makes two changes. Dani Carvajal comes into the game for Fede Valverde – and Alonso brings in the attacker Rodrygo for Vinícius Júnior. And the 25-year-old doesn’t like that at all. He repeatedly points at himself in complete consternation and gestures: “Me?” – and runs almost provocatively slowly to the substitution, cursing to himself and high-fiving his compatriot Rodrygo. But: Alonso and the attacker don’t even look at each other.
The Brazilian international continued to complain when he went to the Real bench, but then disappeared into the locker room. But that wasn’t all.
When there were heated scenes on the pitch between the players from both teams after the final whistle, Vinícius was at it again – and was only with difficulty prevented from attacking Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
Alonso himself was diplomatic after the game: “I want to concentrate on the beautiful, good things in the game. We did well and Vini played a big part in it,” the 44-year-old explained on Spanish television. However, Alonso then announced possible consequences: “We will talk about his reaction, for sure. We will do it between ourselves.”
