The prosecution asks for 4 years and six months in prison for the deputy mayor of L’Hospitalet

The prosecution demands four and a half years in prison for the current deputy mayor of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cristian Alcázar, and for the former councilor of the PSC Cris Plaza by a crime of fraud and another against social security for the allegedly simulated dismissal of the latter when he was a director of the Consell Esportiu of this town and for which he charged 47,147 euros. This is a separate piece of the alleged embezzlement of funds that is investigated in this sports promotion entity in which senior officials of the consistory appear as accused, among them Nuria Marin.

The denouncer of the ‘Consell Esportiu case’, the councilor James Graells, He assured in his day that the dismissal had not been agreed and that, as Plaza explained, that he had remained 17 years in that entity. It was a voluntary resignation. “Agreed replacement & rdquor ;, headlined the municipal newspaper of L’Hospitalet. In fact, six months later, the municipal group of the PSC He hired him as an advisor and in 2019 he became a councilor, in charge of the Sports area. In December 2020, when the case broke out, he left the record.

The prosecution maintains that on an unspecified date, but in any case at the end of 2016, Alcázar, then deputy mayor and councilor for sports and youth of the City Hall of L’Hospitalet and president of the Consell Esportiu, and Plaza “concerted their will in order to, under the pretext of ending the employment relationship”, allow the latter to obtain an “undue economic benefit”.

behind the town hall

The accusation emphasizes that this dismissal agreement and the payment of the corresponding compensation were made “behind the back” of the city council and, above all, of the governing bodies of the Consell Esportiu and its general assembly. In this way, the two defendants “consciously” deprived the aforementioned organizations of said information “with the intention of maintaining a normal situation.” According to the prosecution, “despite what was agreed”, the reality “was radically” opposite to the one described, since “there were no economic, technical, organizational or production reasons that justified the dismissal”.

In this same sense, the indictment specifies that Plaza sent in December 2016 a letter to your friends and acquaintances linked to the Consell Esportiu in which he stated that that same month “he put an end to his relationship with sport & rdquor ;, celebrating on the 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd up to four farewell acts, “both circumstances that seem to go badly with a dismissal situation.

This “conscious alteration of reality”, insists the prosecution, allowed the defendant Plaza, upon his request, to be considered as a recipient of unemployment benefit, receiving from the date of dismissal until his new appointment as advisor to the municipal group of the PSC, a total of €6,486.96 in such concept.
