He wanted to win with his team, but for a player of the SV Donau Klagenfurt took a surprising turn.

Unusual situation in Austria: In the middle of a crucial national league game of SV Donau Klagenfurt against SV Dellach/Gail (4: 4), a player was taken off by the foreign police at half -time, reports the portal “meinzirk.at”.

The State Police Directorate of Carinthia confirmed on Sunday morning the arrest of the footballer from Gambia, which plays for Klagenfurt. The arrest was arranged by the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs and asylum because the man was illegally in Austria after an unsuccessful departure decision.

Donau trainer Kurt Stuck said “Meinbezirk.at” about the incident: “He was asked by the foreign police to get along yesterday.” However, the coach criticized the time: “Of course it was an unfortunate situation, it would be enough time from Monday to Friday to get it during training because he is always there anyway.” However, the trainer understands that the police officers even did their job.

Stuck also said about the player: “For him, this is of course a tough story. He is really a very nice person and very helpful.”
