On Saturday the Peña Barcelona Soriana celebrated – a year late due to the pandemic – its 30th anniversary. The event began in the cemetery of the city of Duero, in front of the tomb of Leonor Izquierdo, Antonio Machado’s wife with a new twinning of the rock that presides over Manolo Sanz with PB Cotlliure, led by Xavi Orts. His link is the figure of the great Andalusian poet, linked to Soria by his wife and who died in the town of Catalunya Nord, in 1939, in exile. This twinning already had a first chapter in Cotlliure in September 2021. It was, therefore, the return visit.
After the parliaments, various poems dedicated by Machado to his beloved wife, who passed away at the age of 18. Flowers were laid on his grave and the small museum dedicated to Eleanor, located in the cemetery itself. The director of the Spanish Foundation, Antonio Machado, was present. Jesus Muzzle.
The day continued with a visit to the La Alameda Cultural Space, where it was possible to see the exhibition of old photographs and postcards on “The Ages of the River: From El Perejinal to San Saturio”. Subsequently, a parade took place through the streets of Soria, in which the supporters clubs showed banners, banners and flags. During the route stops were made in some establishments to savor and taste the typical products from Soria.

then there was gala dinner in the Restaurant of the Hotel Alfonso VIII in which 210 diners gathered. FC Barcelona was represented by Lluís Pérez, from the Social Commission, and former Barça player Juan Carlos Rodríguez, a member of the Dream Team, represented the FC Barcelona Players Association.
Juan Carlos Rodrigueza native of Puente Castro (León) and side of FC Barcelona between 1991 and 1994, gave a personalized vintage t-shirt to Manolo Sanz on the occasion of his 30th anniversary.
