Russians began to receive massive offers from scammers about discounts, sales and promotions, allegedly from well-known brands, reported “RIA News” experts of the ONF “Moshelovka” platform.

“Under the guise of New Year’s promotions and sales, cybercriminals make mailings and create phishing clone sites of well-known brands. The main trick of this year can be called truly fabulously generous offers to buy a gift for loved ones for 10% of its real value, ”said Evgenia Lazareva, head of the All-Russia People’s Front Project“ For the Rights of Borrowers ”.

As reported in “Moshelovka”, the victim receives a mailing list with an offer to buy expensive goods at an incredibly low price as part of a pre-holiday promotion. The quantity of goods is limited, and the offer is supposedly valid for a maximum of 24 hours.

When a person clicks on a link, they are taken to a page where they can only make a purchase. When trying to go to other sections of the site, an error is displayed, and the URLs of links from such letters often do not even contain the name of the brand or seller, experts noted.

Telephone scammers have stolen 45 billion rubles from Russians for almost a year.
