The offer is said to have come too late: next transfer failure for Bayern – Dragusin to Spurs

As of: January 10, 2024 5:30 p.m

FC Bayern Munich is said to have turned down a rumored last-minute offer for Radu Dragusin – and that surprises even the Romanian defender’s agent.

“I can’t believe we turned down Bayern! He didn’t choose the money. At Bayern it was more,” Florin Manea told the Romanian newspaper Gazeta Sporturilor (Wednesday).

Greater chance of playing for Spurs

The money played no role in Dragusin’s decision to move from CFC Genoa to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and not to the German soccer record champions in Munich, the advisor confirmed.

In the report, the newspaper listed three reasons why the 21-year-old international was drawn to England. He had wanted to play in the Premier League since he was a child, the paper quoted Dragusin as saying in an earlier interview.

In addition, Spurs were the first club to inquire in the summer. And thirdly, the chances that he would also play are greater at Tottenham.

Bayern offer only on the way to the airport

As Dragusin’s advisor explained, the offer from Munich only came at the last minute, when they were already on the way to the airport. According to the report, Genoa and Tottenham had previously reached an agreement. Other media also reported on an official offer from Bayern on Tuesday.

Recently, the English international Eric Dier from Spurs was traded to FC Bayern, and ex-Leipzig player Nordi Mukiele (26) from Paris St. Germain is also being discussed on Säbener Straße. It is known that coach Thomas Tuchel really wants to have reinforcements for his squad as soon as possible – but no one has been officially signed yet. Time is of the essence: Bayern will restart the league on Friday evening against TSG Hoffenheim (8.30 p.m./live ticker at sportschau.de).
