The Nordics are looking for a place in the Champions League

The Danish and Norwegian teams will defend their lead today in the decisive second legs of the Champions League qualifiers.

FC Köbenhavn goes into the deciding game against Trabzonspor in the lead. PDO

The most interesting game of the day

Two Nordic teams are on the verge of this season’s Champions League group stage, as Norway’s Bodö Glimt and Denmark’s FC Köbenhavn both head into tonight’s decisive qualifying finals after winning the opening legs by one goal each.

Bodö Glimt travels to Zagreb as a guest of the local Dinamo and FC Köbenhavn to the hot Trabzon, Turkey as a guest of Trabzonspor. Bodö won the opening match between Bodö Glimt and Dinamo Zagreb 1–0. after the shots went to the Norwegians 16-10 and the expected goal 1.3-0.8.

The result for the winner was somewhat expected for that game, as Bodö Glimt was considered a 45% favorite before the match. Now in Croatia, Dinamo is the favorite of the match (odds scale 1.73/4.00/3.95), but Bodö Glimt has the advantage in terms of advancing to the group stage. The Norwegians’ chances of advancing to the 32 chosen ones are about 60 percent.

Against Trabzonspor, FC Köbenhavn is a more likely group stage team than even Bodö Glimt, as its further chances are almost two times out of three. In the opening match in Denmark, FC Köbenhavn won 2–1, after the Turks were able to reduce at the end with a goal by Anastasios Bakasetas.

The match was in Köbenhavn’s possession, although the shots in the match went to the visitors 8-11. Köbenhavn, who expected a goal, won 1.4–0.7. Tonight’s Champions League qualifiers start at 10:00 p.m.

The best betting tip of the day

In terms of betting, Veikkaus offers very midline odds for the Dinamo Zagreb–Bodö Glimt and Trabzonspor–FC Köbenhavn matches, both in terms of winners and number of goals. There is therefore no market deviation hint available for these. My pick is the abundance of goals in the Dinamo Zagreb–Bodö Glimt match.

The opening meeting of the teams a week ago in Norway ended with few goals (1–0), and there was not even a goal waiting to be created in the match, except for a mere two goals (1.3–0.8). However, the nature of that match did not quite match the game they usually play. Both Dinamo Zagreb and Bodö Glimt are very attack-oriented and goal-scoring teams.

In the first six matches of Dinamo Zagreb’s season in the Croatian league, 30 goals have been scored (5.0 per game). When the goal average of Bodö Glimtink’s matches in the Norwegian Elitserien this season has been 3.8 goals per match, the abundance of goals in tonight’s match should not come as a big surprise. The 1.91 offered for more than 3.0 goals is pretty close to playable in my estimate of 52 percent.

On the snooker side, I’m still playing Fan Zhengyi, who started the season really poorly, in the Northern Ireland Open against Ashley Hugill. As an actual hint, however, I won’t raise the Chinese, who lost the previous two games of the season, now, because there are clear question marks.

At his best, Zhengyi is a significantly more skilled player than Hugill. I personally play Zhengyi 1.5 frame for this with odds of 2.44. Of course, the bravest can also use a closet tip. Fan Zhengyi–Ashley Hugill is marked to start at 15:00.
