The World Cup work of the Young Lions continues on Tuesday in the quarter-finals against Slovakia.

Finland finished third in Group A behind Sweden and Canada. Slovakia was second in Group B after the USA.

In the opening group, Slovakia beat Norway 8–4, Switzerland 3–0 and the Czech Republic 6–2, but lost to the USA no less than 2–10.

Finland, on the other hand, lost to Canada 2–5 and to Germany 3–4, but in the last two games of the group stage, the Young Lions beat Germany 4–3 and Sweden 5–4 with the tough guys.

Germany tortured Canada

Finland’s opponent was confirmed only late on Sunday evening, when Canada defeated Germany 6–3 in the final game of the initial group stage.

Germany tormented the red shirts in light of the result until the end of the third period, although Canada took the game almost as they wanted from start to finish.

Canada’s 4–3 winning goal struck with superiority Jordan Dumais. Super promise Macklin’s Celebrini (2+0) and Easton Cowan scored the last two goals on empty nets.

The worst situation of the game was seen after 11 seconds of the game, when Conor Geekie flew into the shower from a tackle on the head. Geekie rumbled by Samuel Schindler.
