Last song full of feeling: Anna RS musical legacy appears in autumn
Two months after the sudden death of Anna R., the former voice of the Duo Rosenstolz, there is now a surprise for her fans. An entire solo album with ten unpublished songs will be released in September. The title of the album: “Courage to Love”. It is a musical will that leaves Anna R. – full of emotion, vulnerability and poetic depth.
The singer died in March 2025 at the age of only 55 in her apartment in Berlin. So far, nothing has been published about the exact cause of death. But instead of silence, her artistic life ends with a last musical sign of life.
Publication was unclear for a long time
As became known from industry circles, it was initially completely open whether these new works would ever be published. Talks between Anna’s family, her management and her record company needed. Ultimately, the decision was made in favor of the fans and music itself. Manager Frank Wiedermann explained:
“Anna would have wanted people to hear these songs. They mean a lot to her. And are a gift to everyone who accompanied her.”
Ten new songs with familiar sound – collaboration with Henning Wehland
The texts and melodies of the album were created in close cooperation with Henning Wehland, with which Anna R. already worked on the “Eye” duet published in 2023. The two combined a deep creative friendship, and the new album is supposed to reflect this special chemistry.
In the past few weeks, the songs have been cautiously produced – hopefully in the spirit of Anna R. All the participants attached to preserving their artistic expression.
An evening for Anna R.: Memorial concert in October
In addition to the album, the fans can expect another moving moment. On October 12th, the memorial concert “Courage to love – an evening for Anna R.” instead of. Many of their musical companions will appear here to commemorate the extraordinary singer together. Ticket sales start on May 23, the income should be donated to a good cause.
Rosenstolz – more than just a pop duo
Together with Peter Plate, Anna R. shaped the German pop landscape for many years as part of Rosenstolz. Her voice, her texts and her presence on stage made you an icon of German -language pop music. The new long player “Courage to Love” should now close a circle.
