The new reference for headphones: The Px8 is a game changer in terms of sound and design

Music is refuge and security, a motivational driver, but also the soundtrack to new stages of life. In order to be able to fully immerse yourself in it, you need good headphones with which even small but meaningful nuances can be made audible. One brand that deals particularly meticulously with this challenge is Bowers & Wilkins. The British brand has with the Px8 recently launched a new wireless headphone that undoubtedly sets new standards.

Surprisingly clear sound: That’s what the flagship model Px8 can do

As soon as you put on the comfortable over-ear headphones with “diamond cut” details, a cover made of fine nappa leather in black or light brown and the high-quality aluminum bracket, it becomes clear how much attention to detail design and cutting-edge technology have been brought together. Inside are custom-designed carbon-fiber cone drivers positioned at an angle in the ear cups, designed to reduce distortion and take sound to the next level.

“Inspired by the carbon dome tweeters of the highly successful Bowers & Wilkins 700 loudspeaker series, the Px8’s new carbon fiber cones offer a unique combination of extremely fast response and particularly low distortion throughout the frequency range,” emphasizes Bowers & Wilkins. This makes it possible to hear a song as musicians actually recorded it.

24-bit sound processing from all major streaming services ensures that the premium headphones, wired or wireless, always offer outstanding sound quality. Playing from a smartphone, tablet or laptop is not only possible and becomes a sound experience thanks to Qualcomm’s aptX™ Adaptive wireless technology – the headphones also come with a USB-C cable and a 3.5 mm plug.

Active noise canceling

The Px8 also uses innovatively optimized noise-cancelling technology: it suppresses unwanted background noise without impairing the music quality. This is thanks to the six microphones inside: two measure the output power of each driver, two more react to ambient noise and the other two are responsible for improved noise reduction, which is reflected in excellent voice quality when making calls.

Significant upgrade in user comfort

The Bowers & Wilkins Music app has also received an upgrade. With the Px8, your favorite music can be streamed directly from a mobile device to the headphones. Music services such as Deezer, Qobuz and TIDAL are supported. Particularly practical: Anyone who enjoys music at home with the popular Zeppelin speaker or two Formation Duo stereo speakers from Bowers & Wilkins can continue listening seamlessly on the Px8 when leaving the house. And the battery life is also impressive: it is a maximum of 30 hours. Thanks to the quick charge feature, another seven hours of listening pleasure can be achieved in just 15 minutes.

Our conclusion: Music fans get their money’s worth with the Px8, because the wireless headphones deliver what they promise – uncompromising sound that conveys the sound experience of a perfectly balanced studio atmosphere. The Gamechanger from Bowers & Wilkins has been available since September 28 at a price of 699 euros in the online shop of the brand and available from selected retailers.
