Basketball’s NBA All-Star Game has caused heavy criticism.

A lot of baskets were made in the match, because Giannis Antetokounmpo’s team won the match LeBron James’s team 184–175. There wasn’t much defending.

In the press conference after the game, the head coach of the Denver Nuggets Michael Malonewho piloted LeBron’s team, appreciated the event, but not the game.

– It’s an honor to be here and it’s an honor to be part of this great weekend. But this was the worst basketball game ever.

Joel Embiid, Kyrie Irving, they tried after all. Joel earnestly asked some guys to play harder and defend. No one hurt themselves, they put on a show for the fans, but it was a tough match to go through. I’m not going to lie, Malone continued of CBS by.

CBS reporter Sam Quinn was on the same lines after the match and gave back on his Twitter account.

– We don’t really need a traditional constellation game if it’s this one. Try something new next year. More captains, choose teams of five. Real cash prizes, Quinn suggested.

Quinn points out later in his tweet, that for the players the purpose of the constellation game is to gain leverage in salary negotiations. Star game selection when it’s a good mark on the resume.

The argument in favor of star games has often been that the game and the show are aimed at fans of the sport.

Quinn points out that every match is for the fans.

– This shit is business. The whole series, every game, every playoff series, press conference, tweet, it’s all for the fans. If the All-Star Game is for the fans, who are all the other games for?

Studio host Kylen Mills wondered during the match how he could even watch it.

– I love the NBA, but the all-star game is not good television, and especially not good basketball.

Utah Jazz’s Finnish star Lauri Markkanen was selected for Team Giannis. The Finn bagged 13 points. Among other things, he showed off his dunk skills in the match.

In the embedding below, you can clearly see how there was no defense at all in the match.
