The fair ‘Nadal to Port‘will celebrate its fifth edition this year, which will take place in different spaces in Port Vell between December 5 -day when the lights will be switched on at 6:30 p.m.- and January 7th. Every day from 12:00 to 23:00.
The proposal expands considerably. Until now it was celebrated in the Moll de la Fusta, and this Christmas it grows towards Barceloneta, with the presence also of the Moll de Barcelona, the Dipòsit, the Barceloneta and the Plaza de Pau Vila, which will also have lighting.
More space
The appointment goes from occupying 20,000 square meters to 27,000 and linearly grows from 500 meters to a kilometer and a half. The ‘Nadal al Port’ maintains the 400 square meter ice rink and the ferris wheel. The president of the port, Lluís Salvadó, has stressed the desire to bring the celebration closer to the residents of the nearby neighborhoods and the city in general.
Among the new features it presents, a light show at the Tower of Jaume I, in the Moll of Barcelona, next to the Word Trade Center, and a virtual reality experience created by the children’s channel SX3the Super3.
SX3 Virtual Reality
The fair’s budget for the port amounts to one million euros, 200,000 for lighting and the rest for cleaning, security and other concepts related to regular maintenance. Because the private operators of the different shows have their own budget, which the port has not revealed. For consumer purposes, the attractions, the ferris wheel and the ice rink have to pay.
The SX3 virtual reality experience is free, which has been presented by the head of 3Cat’s children’s strategic unit, Vanesa Hernandez. The proposal is called ‘Il·lusions’ and it is, he stressed, “3Cat’s first virtual reality experience. “It is not an experience just for children and it is to be experienced in a group.” The idea is that the experience is itinerant, with the ‘Nadal al Port’ being the first place where you can live.
The tower, Circ Raluy and Harry Potter
The Torre de Jaume I, the cable car tower located in the Moll of Barcelona, will be the subject of a light and music show that will take place every afternoon at 7:00 p.m. It can be seen and heard from the Moll de la Fusta. The ‘Nadal al Port’ adds a gastronomic market in the Moll del Dipòsit that will begin in mid-December.
