The most streamed hip-hop albums on Spotify

Is hip hop the music genre of our time? Well, that could certainly be argued about for pop culture reasons. On the other hand, it is undisputed that rap ensures constant access rates on the large streaming portals. Spotify has now presented its own list of hip-hop albums that are the driving force in the program.

Drake, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar dominate these charts. However, at the top of the list is the late musician XXXTentacion’s 2018 album “?”. Drake (“Scorpion” at #2 and “Views” at #3), the late Juice Wrld (“Goodbye & Good Riddance”) and Travis Scott (“Astroworld”) make up the top five.

Drake is also represented in the top 50 with eight (!) LPs. As already mentioned, “Scorpion” and “Views” are included, as well as “More Life” (9), “Take Care” (19), “Certified Lover Boy” (22), “Nothing Was The Same” (26), “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” (35) and “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” (48).

Eminem, on the other hand, is the second most ranked rapper on the list thanks to The Eminem Show (11), Recovery (24), The Marshall Mathers LP – Tour Edition (28), The Marshall Mathers LP2 (29 ), “Music To Be Murdered By Side B Deluxe Edition” (30) and “Kamikaze” (36).

Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West share third place on the list with three albums each. In the running for Lamar: “DAMN.” (8), “Good Kid, MAAD City” (17) and “Black Panther: The Album” (23). West can score with “The Life Of Pablo” (18), “Graduation” (20) and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” (34).

Since Nicki Minaj specifically asked: As a rapper, she is the only woman in the top 10.
