When are the Four Hills Tournament and the New Year’s tournament?

The 71st Four Hills Tournament of ski jumpers is also eagerly awaited. It traditionally rises around the turn of the year in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.

For the women ski jumpers, the New Year’s tournament is on the agenda for the second time, with two competitions each in Villach (Austria) and Ljubno (Slovenia) between December 28th and January 1st.

From the 2023/24 season there will also be a Four Hills Tournament for women in ski jumping for the first time.

When does the Nordic World Ski Championships take place in Planica?

From February 21 to March 5, 2023, Planica in Slovenia will be the venue for the Nordic World Ski Championships. Medals are awarded there in cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined.

The ski jumping competitions take place on the Bloudkova ski jumps. The cross-country competitions take place in the adjacent cross-country stadium.

Who starts for the German ski jumping team?

Richard Freitag and Severin Freund gave up their skis after the end of the last World Cup winter.

There are also changes in the coaching team: Poland’s former head coach Michal Dolezal is supporting national coach Stefan Horngacher along with Bernhard Metzler and Paul Winter.

The previous senior squad coaches Jens Deimel and Andreas Wank are taking on new positions in the DSV. Deimel heads the federal base in Hinterzarten/Furtwangen. Wank takes over management of the C squad, replacing Tino Haase.

In addition to talent scout Martin Schmitt, Richard Freitag will also be involved in the D/C squad in the future.

After 14 years, Christian Bruder has ended his work as DSV and assistant coach of the national ski jumping team around Katharina Althaus. The A squad will continue to be coached by national coach Maximilian Mechler and assistant Thomas Juffinger.
