Sanremo 2023, the green carpet inaugurates the Festival: fans in a frenzy for Elodie and Marco Mengoni

The memorable looks of the Sanremo godmothers

The Sanremo Festival is about to begin and curiosity is at its peak. From the often imaginative and trendy looks exhibited by the competing singers, to the style of the co-hosts who will join Amadeus this year: Cuccarini, Mengoni, Giorgia, Teresa Mannino and Fiorello, there will certainly be no shortage of surprises. In the meantime, let’s remember some of the chicest moments of godmothers in the history of the event.

The glam icons on the Ariston stage

Always elegant, beautiful, princely. The co-hosts keep the audience’s attention by filling the difficult times between one singing performance and another with funny sketches, dances and busy monologues. But above all with outfits sensational, created by the most important stylists of the moment who have interpreted the aesthetic peaks of each vintage since the beginning.

One of the most glamorous looks ever? It’s the dress created by Gianni Versace for Claudia Koll in 1995. A double look (worn in both color and black and white versions) with the bustier bodice and checkered skirt, imprinted in the history of the Festival. In any case, many other unforgettable outfits will follow. From the Valentine shocking pink by Inés Sastre in 2000 to the pearly lingerie dress of Emanuel Ungaro sported by Megan Gale in 2001. A simply endless style competition.

The velvet mania of the 2023 edition

Last year’s co-hosts stand out for their unrepeatable mix of couture fashion and activism, but above all dark velvets and sparkling sets. Francesca Fagnani opens the dance in a sparkling baguette top over cigarette trousers with a tuxedo band Armani Prive and jewels Pasquale Bruni. The volleyball player Paola Egonu follows closely in long dress with plunging neckline and sets of Pomellato. Chiara Ferragni instead with the third change of dress of the final evening (like the other three signed Schiaparelli) goes for a smooth, minimalist black velvet look. Completed however, by a bold and exquisitely artistic detail.

The wide neckline of the custom made dress designed by Daniel Roseberry, is designed specifically to frame the series. A matte gold necklace/sculpture in the shape of a uterus, symbol ofactivism for reproductive rights brought as a theme a Sanremo 73.

Helped in the fitting by the stylist and image consultant Andrea Mennella, echoes the actress and comedian born in 1979 Chiara Francini. Who takes the stage at the Ariston alongside Gianni Morandi and Amadeus in a designer blue velvet diva dress Moschino.

A perfect cut to enhance the sinuous body, making a scene with the most voluminous sleeves ever. The necklace and the ring in diamonds with tanzanite and earrings in diamonds and sapphires, signed Crivellicomplete the work.
