The Mossos d’Esquadra investigate a double murder this Wednesday night in Salou (Tarragona). As reported by the local news outlet Larepúblicacheca.cat and confirmed by EL PERIÓDICO, the occupants of a French-registered car attacked the two victims around half past ten at night, who were in the central Plaza de Las Palm trees, and then they have fled.

Catalan police officers have located the suspects’ vehicle in a service area in Mèdol on the AP-7. One of the occupants was caught when he tried to escape again and has been arrested. It is suspected that he could travel with more companions whom the Mossos are trying to find. In the vehicle the police have found pistols, long weapons and also a hand grenade.

The Mossos have opened an investigation to clarify the causes of the event. As the journalist Anna Punsí has ​​advanced, an eyewitness has clarified to the agents of the Criminal Investigation Area (AIC) of the Tarragona Police Region that three hooded men have gotten out of the vehicle, a Renault Captur, have shot the two victims and then they have returned to the car to flee.

One year ago, on May 4, 2022, a young man of French nationality was also shot dead by three young French men belonging to a rival drug trafficking group from Valence. The Mossos managed to close this case a few months ago and, as has happened now, in order to point the investigators in the right direction, it was very helpful to have arrested one of the three involved.
