Dow Jones-The mood The US consumer was noticeably weakened in March. The index for consumer mood in the USA, calculated at the University of Michigan, fell to 57.0 from 64.7 at the end of February at the end of the month. This has been the lowest level since November 2022. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had expected a stand of 57.0. In the first survey in the middle of the month, it was 57.9. The index for the expectations amounted to 52.6 (previous month: 64.0, temporarily: 54.2), the index for the assessment of the current situation was given as 63.8 (65.7 and 63.5).

Consumers’ inflation expectations over the age of twelve months increased to 5.0 out of 4.3 percent compared to the previous month. In the five years, they laid 4.1 out of 3.5 percent. The US consumers play a key role for the US economy because around 70 percent of gross domestic product depends on private consumption.
