Sasu Laukkonen to close the doors of the Michelin restaurant Ora.

– My priorities have changed. My health and family have taken on a different role than in the last 12 years. I have made this decision completely rationally, Laukkonen states in the press release.

Laukkonen first ran the Chef & Sommelier restaurant in Ullanlinna and then Ora.

– Time and time for each. I am happy and grateful for how much I have been able to do around one small restaurant. I have received much more than what I set out to get in 2010 with Chef & Sommelier and since 2017 with Ora. Now I want to take better care of myself and spend time with my family in a more balanced way than before, says Laukkonen in the press release.

During the Corona period, Laukkonen put the Michelin concept on hold and prepared take away sushi with his staff, which quickly became popular.

Pizza and knives

With Ora closing its doors, Laukkonen will continue the pizzeria project he started last year at Fiskars in the summer.

– Preparations are underway to open pizzeria Waldemar again in Fiskars. The work is progressing by planning new pizzas and recruiting staff for the opening in May, Laukkonen says in the press release.

He also plans to continue with knife maintenance, which has become a passion for the man. The Michelin chef says he is also open to new ideas.
