Linn Svahn and Frida Karlsson did not appreciate the activities of the organizers.
Swedish female skiers did not finish in the top three in the final stage of the Tour de Ski or in the overall results of the tour. Still Frida Karlsson and Linn Svahn was commanded on the final climb to the podium.
– It wasn’t nice at all, Svahn told Expressen.
Svahn won the so-called Tour de Ski points race. There have been candy balls in the games, from which bonus points could be collected into the pot.
Karlsson was third in the points race. The Swedish national anthem was played over Alpe Cermis.
– I didn’t aim for this cup. This is not the biggest podium I have, commented Karlsson.
Svahn won three of the Tour’s seven races and was sixth overall. He is not warmed by the victory in the points race.
– I don’t think this is very cool. Like salt in wounds. This would have been great if I had aimed to win the points race. It’s a bit like hearing the national anthem after the Tour, when you were aiming for the overall race.
Svahn will be paid 6,446 euros in prize money for winning the points competition. The prize for third place in the points competition is 2,149 euros.

Before the final climb, Karlsson was tied for the top spots in the Tour’s overall standings. She couldn’t keep up with the pace of the top women in the final climb, but fell to tenth in the final stage.
In the overall results, Karlsson was fourth. The disappointed Swede first collapsed in the snow at the finish and later sat with his face buried in his hands.

Svahn was 16th in the final climb. He goes on vacation to Lavazz with Karlsson. The two are going to eat candy and bake buns.
