Major League Baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers made history by winning the second consecutive World Series championship.

The Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in extra innings in a dramatic seventh inning to secure the championship for the second year in a row, the first team in 25 years.

The game culminated in the 11th inning when the Dodgers’ star pitcher Will Smith took the Californian team to a 5–4 lead. The Blue Jays still had a chance to tie the game, but Alejandro Kirk failed to tie the game, and the Dodgers’ party could begin at Toronto’s Rogers Centre.

On the field, emotions heated up in the fifth inning when the Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski seemed to throw the ball straight Andres Gimenez towards. The situation resulted in a mass scuffle, as the substitutes of both teams rushed onto the field to sort out their differences.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was named World Series Most Valuable Player.

The Dodgers’ championship is the club’s second in a row and eighth overall in history. The last defending champion in MLB was the New York Yankees, who won three straight in 1998-2000.

Los Angeles messed up

Videos of the championship party that started on the streets of Los Angeles are currently spreading on Some. Immediately after the victory was decided, thousands of fans rushed to the city center to celebrate the Dodgers’ double championship.

The party atmosphere on the streets of Los Angeles was anything but restrained. Fireworks exploded in the sky, cars revved and burned rubber at intersections, and fans climbed traffic signs to celebrate the championship.

In some places, the party noise became so rowdy that the police had to intervene and direct the crowds to calmer waters.

Based on the videos, however, the atmosphere was mostly boisterously happy.

Also the President of the United States Donald Trump reacted to the win at Truth Social.

– Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers. A great win from incredible champions! A weaker team wouldn’t have been able to win this game – or the sixth, for that matter. So many star players stepped up and played their part. See you at the White House! Trump wrote.
