“The Last Of Us”: Kaitlyn Dever will play a leading role

There are cast additions to be reported in the second season. The “Booksmart” actress is also there.

The dystopian series “The Last Of Us” started in Germany in January 2023. A sequel is eagerly awaited by fans. Things can now continue soon with an expansion of the main cast.

The US format is based on a survival horror computer game of the same name. In nine episodes, the first season told the story of Joel Miller (played by Pedro Pascal), whose mission is to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of a city infested with zombies. After the successful first season, it was clear that further episodes could be expected – but what they would look like and who would star was unclear. Some light can now be shed into the darkness.

One question was always in the air: Who would take on the role of Abby in the future? Now it’s finally clarified and official: Kaitlyn Dever (known from “Booksmart”) will play the role. In their press release, Sky describes Abby as a seasoned soldier. “Her black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks revenge for those she loved.”

Kaitlyn Dever was already in discussion as Ellie

Kaitlyn Dever now has a leading role in the dystopia. Dever is said to have already been in discussion for the part of Ellie. This role was then played by “Game Of Thrones” star Bella Ramsey. With Abby now cast, filming can begin soon, as the second season of “The Last Of Us” is actually scheduled to go into production in spring 2024 and will be streamed on HBO, Sky and WOW in 2025. However, there are currently no specific publication dates or content details.
