Former freestyler Javier Baez put the skills he learned in the cage to use when he tamed a knifeman outside his home in Miami.

Baez, 34, who was spending Halloween night, turned his car into the parking lot when he noticed a man nearby waving a knife and shouting.

After parking, the man came to the car, opened the car door and tried to cut Baez. Baez got out of his car and tried to calm the man down verbally.

When the knifeman launched another attack, Baez reacted quickly and effectively. In a few seconds, the man was on the ground in a stranglehold.

After the investigation, Baez held the attacker on his knee and called the police.

During the arrest, the knifeman was revealed to be an old acquaintance of the authorities, who had been charged with several serious crimes.

Between 2011 and 2018, Baez fought a total of eight times on the nights of Fight Time, CFN and XFN promotions.
