Theheirs of the earththe plot
Set in 14th century Spainthe story begins in 1387. Arnau Estanyol he is an arbiter of Barcelona and administrator of the Plate of Santa Maria del Mar. Now an elderly man, after a life dedicated to work, he is certain that he can finally take advantage of a well-deserved rest with his wife Mar, but the unexpected is behind the angle. A tragic eventin fact, it is destined to unhinge the balance of the city.
It is about the death of King Peter. To succeed him is the Prince Johnwho takes over the management of the territory, together with the family Puig. The latter, bitter enemy of Estanyol, has only one goal in mind: to carry out a ferocious revenge hatched for some time. The new brutal politics spreads terror in the city and no one has the courage to oppose the Prince and the Puigs. Nobody except Hugo Llor (played by actors David Solans and Yon González, as a young man and an adult, respectively).
In 1387 Hugo is a boy of only 12 years. His mother was forced to abandon him in spite of herself and, after the disappearance of her father, he spends his days on the street and cultivates the dream of becoming a shipbuilder. Perhaps to keep alive the memory of his father, a sailor who died at sea. He is an introverted, lonely boy, but nevertheless, he can count on Arnau’s support and protection.

Hugo Llor and the meeting with Arnau Estanyol
His fate, in fact, changes when meets Estanyol, one of the most powerful and respectable men in the city, who gets him hired in shipyards as a worker. Growing up, he will do everything to make his dream come true, establish himself in the city team and keep the promise made to his mentor.
Soon, however, he will clash with the Puigs, and that will be the moment when dreams of glory suddenly vanish. Llor, in fact, is unwillingly involved in a revenge which has its roots in the distant past.
Returning to the beginning of the narrative, when the Puigs manage to get into the prince’s good graces, they decide to take revenge on Arnau, who is executed before the astonished eyes of his wife Mar and Hugo. Soon after, the woman dies and the son Bernat goes to great lengths to get justice. Unfortunately, he doesn’t make it in time as he dies in a shipwreck. Now everything is in Hugo’s hands.

The overseas release on Netflix
In Italy The heirs of the Earth debuts tonight on Channel 5but in the rest of the world the series is available on Netflix starting last April 15th. While Mediaset’s proposal is reduced to three episodes, the platform maintains the original composition of 8 episodes.
