The new canon of the Dutch -language literature was announced by the Royal Academy of Dutch Language and Letteren (KANTL). Among other things, ‘The grief of Belgium’ by Hugo Claus had to make way for other works. As a result, there is now only a work by Claus more in the Canon: ‘The Oostakker poems’.
