The Danish band Mew’s concert planned for today, December 5, at the Helsinki Ice Hall has been canceled due to an illness of the band’s soloist.

Event organizer Live Nation tells about it on his website:

– Mew’s concert planned for Friday evening, December 5, 2025 at the Helsinki Ice Hall is postponed due to the illness of the soloist. The soloist has vocal complications and unfortunately cannot perform.

The release states that a new date is being sought for the canceled gig:

– We are looking for a replacement day for the event. We will inform you about the replacement date as soon as it is confirmed. Already purchased tickets are valid for the replacement day as they are. Ticketmaster sends additional instructions to all ticket holders by email.

A year ago it was reported that the band’s soloist Jonas Bjarre left the band after almost 30 years.

– This journey comes to an end for me. I have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to start a different journey and focus on other creative projects. I am happy that I am part of the farewell concerts and that I can once again be together with the other beloved founding members, Jonas wrote at the time on Instagram.

Mew is a band that has performed several times in Finland as well. The band’s most famous songs are Comforting Sounds, 156 and The Zookeeper’s Boy.
