THEL LATE SUMMER FRUIT
Type: comedy ✦✦ 1/2
Director: He erects Sehiri. With Fide Edhili, Ameni Fdhili, Samar Sifi, Abdelhak Mrabti, Gaith Mendassi

Fide Fdhili, left, in the film by Erige Sehiri.

A day’s work in a fig plantation in northern Tunisiaa micro-community of collectors in which the newcomer (former documentary filmmaker) brings together a world.

There are no professional actorsstarting with Fide, the young woman who, with her rural stories, solicited the inspiration of the filmmaker. There is room for amorous glances and thoughts and, among the girls, there are those who want a traditional marriage, those who dream of leaving, those who have to defend themselves from the advances of their master.

In search of truth, the author (who writes with Abdellatif Kechiche’s co-screenwriter) includes brief lyrical and closes with a hymn to the freedom of the feminine.
