Russia, demanding security guarantees, does not threaten the West, but warns it, declared in an interview with Kommersant, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

“We are not threatening anyone. We caution. Our position is absolutely clear and predictable. And we clearly stated it, now we are waiting for the same honest reaction, ”said Grushko.

He stressed that Russia is acting openly and NATO knows “what kind of military-technical measures from the Russian side can be discussed.” According to the deputy minister, the use of certain measures “will depend on how the situation develops, what military potentials can be used against our interests.”

Following the talks with NATO, which took place in Brussels on January 12, Grushko, who led the Russian delegation, said that the country would respond to threats with military means if the political ones were powerless. “Russia has indicated: we have a set of legitimate military-technical measures that we will apply if we feel real threats to security,” the diplomat said.
