Mika Lehkosuo continues at the helm of the U21 national team, Palloliitto informs. The contract lasts until the end of 2028, but it includes an option for a possible 2029 EC final tournament.
– Our joint journey continues with success in mind as before, Lehkosuo states on the website of the Finnish Football Association.
– I myself have a lot of ambition to be involved in helping Finnish futs get closer to the European top.
Under Lehkosuo’s leadership, Finland progressed to last summer’s U21 age group EC final tournament. There were two draw points from the three preliminary group matches.
– Lehkosuo has done a great job as the head coach of the Pikkuhuuhkajie so far, but there is plenty of hunger and there is still much to be won, comments Marco CasagrandeGeneral Secretary of the Football Association.
– Maximum attack, full forward, together, as Lehkosuo has launched as the core message of the ongoing EC qualifiers.
The guards of Lehkosuo are eager for the final tournament of summer 2027. Pikkuhuhkajat is second in its qualifying group, behind Spain, which is racing with a clean game.
– We greatly appreciate Lehkosuo’s high ethos of doing work and the mentality of continuous learning, he says Aki HyryläinenPalloliitto’s director of sports.
– He also has the necessary self-critical approach to his work.
