The first two in the semi-finals have been determined

At the European Handball Championships, everything is on the line for Germany on Monday. In the other group, some decisions were made on Sunday.

Denmark and Sweden are in the semi-finals of the European Handball Championship. The two Scandinavian teams celebrated clear victories on Sunday and thus secured their ticket to the next round. Defending champions Sweden had to deal with the Portuguese, who had previously been tied on points. In a high-scoring game, Jim Gottfridsson’s team prevailed 40:33. Thanks to the victory, the Swedes can no longer be pushed out of second place on the last matchday on Tuesday.

Top favorite Denmark also clearly won their game. The leaders of Main Round Group II defeated Norway 29:23. Almost everything was clear at halftime, Denmark led 18:11.

Since Denmark won the direct duel against Sweden on Friday, it is already clear that Denmark will go into the semi-finals first and Sweden second. According to the current status, Denmark would face Austria and Sweden would face France. But while France’s progress is very likely, the battle for second place in main round Group I remains exciting.

The situation in the German group

Austria currently has four points, Hungary and Germany three. On Monday (from 6 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online), Austria will face Olympic champion France, who has beaten every team from this group so far. Germany and Hungary meet at 8:30 p.m. If Austria loses, both teams would have the chance to take second place.

On the last match day, Hungary will face France, Germany will face Croatia and Austria will face bottom-placed Iceland. It remains exciting at the European Handball Championships.
