The main Italian Poker Challenge tournament is still in the “qualification” stages. In the meantime, however, the first scheduled event has concluded and we are preparing for a live final for qualifiers. A lot happened at the IPC: especially at the Mystery Bounty won by Michele Zullo

It was a decidedly lively final table which, just before the room closed, decreed the victory of Michele Zullo. “I cared about the trophy – commented the winner – because I want to display it in plain sight in my restaurant”. It seemed that the pro Lorenzo Arduini could make a big statement but his pocket nines ran into the best starting hand in Texas Holdem. No miracle for Lorenzo with the aces holding up. With 5 players left, the bounties still to be drawn were decidedly tempting and to avoid “random” alliing, the players agreed on a deal on bounties which changed the speed of the tournament: in fact, according to the rules, an agreement on “envelopes” halves the time between one level and another. Zullo won a couple of decisive pots before eliminating Stefano Ji and lifting the trophy

In the meantime, obviously, the Main Event continued with two “sessions”: one in the afternoon and the other in the evening. Day 1B saw 96 entries. At the end of the day the chipleader, Pietro Nicastro, bagged 225,800 chips, trailing the second in the standings by around 30k. Day 1C started in the evening: among the 14 who passed the cut, the Russian Novitskiy is in the lead with 208k (the second in the evening has 129k). Today the outgoing champion should appear in the room, together with other expected protagonists. Live broadcasts will also start from tomorrow, which you can follow as always on our website. In fact, the last act of the Live Grand Final is expected, pitting against each other players who have qualified thanks to victories in important tournaments or first place in special rankings
