Renfe has restored the circulation of high speed trains that join Madrid with Aragon and Catalonia this Wednesday around 6 am.
Thus, it has recovered the operation of the Alhama de Aragón – Calatayud section, interrupted from this Tuesday at 11 p.m. due to the fire in Ateca (Zaragoza), The company has detailed in a statement.
Specifically, The lines linking Catalonia and Madrid return to normal operation, and that pass through Aragon; and the one that links Catalonia and Andalusia, and that also circulates through Aragon.
Renfe had suspended all train traffic linking Madrid with Aragon and Catalonia due to the Ateca fire, that has approached the train tracks between Calatayud and Alhama of Aragon.
“Suspended the circulation of High Speed and Regional trains linking Madrid with Aragon and Catalonia due to a large-scale fire between Calatayud and Alhama de Aragón”, Renfe reported on its official Twitter account.
He had also detailed that the fire has forced Barcelona to retreat from Zaragoza the Avlo train that should have arrived in Madrid at 11:55 p.m. and that left Barcelona at 9:10 p.m.
In this way, the affected trains they would not leave origin until the authorities allow it. Renfe is informing those affected by this incident through all its communication channels “outside the railway operation”, and was offering the possibility of changing or canceling the ticket at no cost.
