The Finnish players left Stadium MK’s pitch disappointed. PDO

Finland was actually left out of the quarter-finals of the EC tournament already last fall, when the team was drawn in the rock-hard B group in Manchester.

For example, Portugal, which was clearly at the feet of Helmarie in the qualifying round, has twice come from a two-goal deficit to a draw in England, and will still be fighting for a place in the next round on Sunday.

It was Finland’s fate to lose all three of their opening group matches with a combined score of 1–8. In scoring attempts, the balance of three games shows even more dull readings of 15-84.

On Saturday alone, Germany scored a 3–0 victory with no less than 32 scoring attempts. Only two companies are recorded in the Finnish statistics.

One of them fell To Juliette Kemp. The attacker received a good vertical pass From Eveliina Summasand only one defender was his and the goalkeeper by Merle Frohms between.

– Their veskar plays a lot outside. The first thought was Chipata’s ball over him, but he started to reverse really quickly, Kemppi said.

– Then I tried to get past the defender with a little tat, but he got blocked.

The story continues after the picture.

Juliette Kemppi got her first EC minutes in the match against Germany. PDO

On Saturday, Kemppi played his first minutes in the EC tournament. The value competition debut naturally warmed the heart of the Kalmar leader.

– Feeling empty. These games have been awaited a lot and now they are over. All in all, I’m glad we got here.

There were as many as 20,721 spectators in the stands. Even in the opening period, the rhythmic shouts of “Suomi, Suomi” resounded at Stadium MK.

– The spectators were really well involved. A big thank you to them for that, Kemppi said.

Of course, the difference in level to the top of Europe was already clear before the tournament. There are no pop arts to reduce it.

The work will continue even after this tournament.

– We have already made a lot of progress in that the players are now in better teams and better leagues. Everything starts at the grassroots level so that we can develop the operation, Kemppi reminded.

In the near future, Helmarii still have two vital World Cup qualifiers ahead of them. We’ll get to them later Anna Signeulin under.

– We have Finnish guts, and we are not discouraged by this. We just get more energy when we get on vacation. We will definitely come back hungry.
