Despite his hamstring injury, Norway’s hurdles star Karsten Warholm seems ready to defend his title at the World Championships in Athletics in Eugene.

The Olympic champion and world record holder apparently won his heat on Saturday without any problems in 49.34 seconds. Warholm had not contested a single race earlier this season.

Best in the first lap was Estonia’s Rasmus Mägi in 48.78 seconds. A German runner was not at the start over the hurdles. The semi-finals will take place on Sunday and the final on Tuesday.
