A condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and a series of measures. These are the decisions taken by the world council of the FIA, the motor sports government, which met in an extraordinary session on the subject. What happen

No races will be held in Russia and Ukraine. As far as Formula 1 is concerned, this means the confirmation of the cancellation of the Russian GP scheduled for 25 September. Then there is a ban on the use of flags and anthems of both countries. Teams chapter: ban on participation in competitions by Russian and Ukrainian teams. As for the drivers of both nationalities, they can participate in the competitions but under the FIA neutral flag, subject to specific commitment and respect for the principles of the federation of peace and political neutrality. In Formula 1 the only Russian driver is Nikita Mazepin who races for Haas. The US team among its sponsors has Uralkali, a Russian producer and exporter of potassium.
