British TV bosses won’t swallow Janice Dickinson’s accusations about the accident that disfigured the model’s face.

TV bosses blame ex-top model Janice Dickinson, 71, for her own injury. A British newspaper reported on the matter The Sun on the basis of the legal documents obtained.
Dickinson was offended by the British I’m a Celebrity… South Africa –on the set of a reality TV series in 2022. Dickinson had gone to the bathroom in the middle of the night and tripped. The model suffered a concussion and severe injuries to her face. Dickinson’s facial appearance was permanently altered as a result of the accident.
Dickinson sued the ITV channel that produced the show over the accident and demanded damages for the channel’s failure to fulfill its duty of care to the contestants.
According to The Sun, the show’s bosses refuse to accept the blame.

According to court documents, the creators of the program say that the contestants were instructed to go to the bathroom and take care of their evening chores before getting into bed. All the participants had unanimously accepted the night lighting that was in use on the first night. The layout of the camp remained the same all the time and there were no obstacles or differences in height on the path to the bathroom. The competitors were given safety instructions and a map of the camp, as well as a barrier-free route to the toilets.
According to the creators of the program, Dickinson had not followed the prescribed route around the fixed benches of the campfire, but had tried to straighten either between them or over them.
– The plaintiff was the cause of his own accident or, alternatively, was negligent in a contributory way, the court documents say of Dickinson.

TV bosses have listed nine allegations of negligence by Dickinson. One of these is that he didn’t go to the bathroom before going to bed.
ITV also says it disputes a US plastic surgeon’s report on the extent of Dickinson’s injuries.
Dickinson suffered injuries to her head, lips, cheeks and wrists as a result of the fall. The model has said that she is left with nerve damage that affects her ability to speak, eat and drink.
