The Dutch team is strengthened with striker Thijs Dallinga from Groningen; Bergwijn and Brobbey drop out

Steven Bergwijn and Brian Brobbey cannot play for the Dutch national team in the European Championship qualifiers against Ireland and Gibraltar. National coach Ronald Koeman has therefore brought Thijs Dallinga into the selection for the first time.

Research by the medical staff showed that Ajax players Bergwijn and Brobbey cannot be deployed. Former FC Emmen player Dallinga has impressed in recent weeks at his French club Toulouse. The 23-year-old attacker scored in the match against Lille on Sunday and was also accurate in the Europa League against Liverpool last week.

Manchester City’s Nathan Aké resigned on Sunday. Koeman’s selection now consists of 23 players.

The Dutch team will play against Ireland on Saturday. The last European Championship qualifying match with Gibraltar is scheduled for next Tuesday. The Dutch national team will qualify directly for next year’s European Championship in Germany if it wins against Ireland or Gibraltar.
